Wayne Sorensen

Wayne Sorensen, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Wayne was born on October 11, 1951 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to Clarence and Marie (Sofield) Sorensen.

Wayne was a graduate of Woodbridge High School. He was a proud member of the IBEW Local Union 456 (formally 358) for over 40 years. Growing up he could usually be found working underneath a car while listening to Oldies. Wayne enjoyed being on the water, especially fishing, which led to the decision to retire on Lake Erie.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Georgia, who he married on October 4, 1998. He is also survived by his brother, Glen Sorensen; sister, MaryAnn (Jim) Sorensen-Allacci; nephew, Keith (Denise) Sorensen; niece, Karen Hennessy as well as his beloved dogs, Bella and Rosie.

Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, is assisting with arrangements. A memorial service is being planned in New Jersey at a later date.
