Wayne L. Domitio, age 96, of Maumee passed away Thursday, January 27, at the Elizabeth Scott Care Center. Born in Maumee, OH on July 5, 1925, to the late Carl E. and Lillian (Hillabrand) Domitio, he was the oldest of 2 children. An industrious worker from an early age, Wayne completed his years of employment as a regional sales development representative with the American Greetings Corporation.
Wayne was an active supporter of the Maumee community and St. Joseph’s Church. He was a member of the Maumee Planning Commission, Maumee Elks and served on various committees at St. Joseph’s. He served as a Boy Scout leader, receiving the St. George and Silver Beaver Awards and accompanied several troops to Philmont, New Mexico. Wayne married the former Alice LeFevre on September 17, 1949, and they enjoyed 65 years together.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; wife, Alice; sons, Anthony and Christopher; daughter, Roxanne Walker; daughter in law, Susan (Moore); son in law, Mark Walker; and grandson, Ryan Domitio. He is survived by daughter, Martha (Tom) Farrell; daughter in law, Paula; grandchildren, Nick, Natalie, Melanie (Rob), Jesse, Laura, Drew (Whitney), and Anna, as well as several great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 11, 2022, at St. Joseph Church Catholic Church, 104 W. Broadway St., Maumee from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. As a courtesy to the family, please wear a mask at all times.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Wayne’s name to St. Joseph Church, Maumee, OH, or the Elizabeth Scott Activity Fund.
