Wayne Irvin Burr

September 7, 1944 — September 25, 2022

Wayne I. Burr, 78, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully during the night on Sunday, September 25, 2022. He was born on September 7, 1944, to Nettie (Custer) and Irvin Burr, in Louisville, Kentucky. He spent most of his childhood growing up in Elliston, Ohio. He married Donna Klavinger in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and have spent the last 47 years together along with their son, Ryan. He was previously married to the former Jeanette Wisegiver, and they had two children, David, and Dedra.

Wayne had worked at the East Broadway plant of LOF and Ford Motor Company in Woodhaven, Michigan, early in his life before starting his long-term career as a truck driver, hauling steel for Globe Trucking. He retired in 2021.

Wayne was funny! He possessed an unusual sense of humor, a bit crazy, but with the ability to make anyone smile and laugh out loud! He loved his Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoyed tinkering with things and restoring antique furniture. He always enjoyed a glass of fine wine and a good cigar! He was a selfless and giving man to all.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Donna; son, Ryan Burr, his fiancée Tiffani Napierala; daughters, Dedra (John) Sheppard and Nicki (Tom) Bee; grandchildren, Aislyn & Aribella Burr, Justin, Tiffini & Sabrina Sheppard and Trisha, Kyle & Andrea Jividen; great grandchildren, Kathan, Zyler, Abigail, Logan, Dakota, Jazzlyn, Hunter and David; his sisters, Shirley Riley and Billie Madison; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don and Jim Burr; sisters, Ester Ruth Burr, Becky Hillard and Mitzi Heischman; and son, David Jividen.

The family would like to thank Elara Hospice and his social worker, Jen, for their wonderful care and compassion. A special thank you to Wayne’s nurse, Gigi. He appreciated you so much and had a special place in his heart for you and your kindness.

In accordance with Wayne’s wishes, no visitation or memorial service will be held. He requested a gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life at a time of convenience for all. Arrangements are being handled through the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Oak Harbor, Ohio.
