WAVALEE MAY (LUSHER) JACOBS Wavalee May (Lusher) Jacobs, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on May 22, 1930 to Alvin A. and Frances Oma (Glenn) Lusher in Fredericktown, Ohio. She married Richard Lee Jacobs on August 4, 1956 in Perrysburg. Wavalee graduated from Lake High School and continued her education at Bowling Green State University, where she was a member of Alpha Phi. She received her Master of Science in Nursing Degree from Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing on the campus of Case Western Reserve. Wavalee was employed at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan and taught nursing at the Toledo Hospital before serving as a nurse for Perrysburg Schools and retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Ohio Nurses Association. She enjoyed cake decorating, calligraphy, knitting, crocheting, biking the beach at Hilton Head and spending time with family and friends. Wavalee is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Richard L. Jacobs; sons, Richard Lee (Joan) Jacobs, II, Theron Lee (Cheryl) Jacobs, Darick Lee (Kimberly) Jacobs, and Paul Lee (Michelle) Jacobs; grandchildren, Chelsea, Courtney, Matthew, Michelle (Devin) Conklin, Angela, Justin, Channing, Madison, Mac and Lola Jacobs; siblings, Donna (Elwood) Marsh and Edward (Lorraine) Lusher; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, David and Bob Lusher. Friends will be received on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. with Chaplain Chris Roper officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Condolences may be made to the family at www.witzlershank.com.
