Warren Emory Buckey, 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012 following a brief illness. Warren is preceded in death by his parents, Eulalia and Harold Buckey. Warren leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Mary Janet, and their children: John Buckey Amy and their children, Brian, Kate, and Laura Toledo, OH; Janice Cain Kelly and their children, Tyler and Caroline Martinsville, VA; Keith Buckey Robin and their children, Morgan and JJ Toledo, OH; Jay Buckey Carolyn and their children, Will and Mary Ladera Ranch, CA; Scott Buckey Laura and their children, Jack, Jessie, Tricia, and Billy Granger, IN and his brothers, Merwyn and David Buckey. Warren was born in 1926 and, as the son of a Methodist minister serving many communities, he spent his childhood throughout the State of Ohio.He graduated from Baldwin Wallace University, Berea, Ohio and received his Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. Warrens professional career included Arthur Anderson, Eastman, Stitcher, and Smith, Arthur Young, Donovan Wire Iron, and, finally, concluded as Managing Partner for the Toledo Office of Arthur Young. Warren strongly believed in giving back to his community as demonstrated by his extensive service including: Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The University of Toledo; University of Toledo Foundation Board of Trustees; Sienna Heights College Board of Trustees; Co-Chairman of the Committee of 100 for City of Toledo; President of Board of Trustees, Epworth Assembly, Ludington, MI; President, Windemere Homeowners Association, Naples, FL; and member of the Board of Trustees of Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Trustcorp Inc. Warren was a long standing member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Toledo and served as Chairman of the Pastor/Parish Committee. Warren was an avid golfer and tennis player and a member of The Toledo Country Club and The Toledo Club. Warren and his wife, Jan, lived in Toledo for nearly 50 years and most recently resided in Naples, Florida. Warren spent all 87 summers of his life at his beloved summer home at Epworth Heights in Ludington, MI. Warren was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend and business colleague and will be deeply missed by many. Visitation will be held at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania Avenue, west of Corey on Friday, October 5th, from 5-8pm. Services will be held on Saturday, October 6th, at 11am, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 3077 Valley View Drive off Central Ave..
