Lt. Col Warren Anderson Brown born October 16, 1923 to Rev. Anderson Brown and Ruth Brown, passed away unexpectedly while surrounded by his family on May 18, 2012. Spending the majority of his life in the Toledo area, he and wife Elizabeth Betsy moved to Westerville OH in 2006 to be closer to their daughter and family. Warren served his country proudly as an Air Force B-25 pilot in WWII, flying missions in Ascension Island, North Africa, Egypt, and Iran before finally joining the 82nd Squadron of the 12th Bomb Group in India. When the war ended, he continued his military commitment in the Reserves and retired after 29 years at the rank of Lt. Colonel. Warren and his brothers Willis, Bob, and Charlie started Maumee Fabrics which operated for 50 years until he retired. He was involved with many charities and organizations including the MOAA and ROA. He was a Mason for 65 years with the Barton Smith Lodge 613 in Toledo and a 38 year member of the American Legion Post 587. He avidly supported the NRA and volunteered for Council for Older Adults of Delaware County where he and Elizabeth Betsy delivered meals to senior citizens in need. Warren was a great husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family greatly. He loved to spend time with his grandkids and took time to share his experiences and stories with them. He lived his life with the strong moral values instilled by his parents which inspired many of the people that regularly surrounded him. He regularly expressed his love for his nieces and nephews and other family in Dayton and always looked forward to attending the annual family picnic. He has touched so many hearts and will be deeply missed. Warren is survived by his wife of 32 years Elizabeth Betsy, his son Warren Brown Jr. Lana, and his daughter Susan Presas Tony, grandchildren Taylor, AJ, Tyler, and Craig. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Willis, Bob, Charlie, Jack and his sister Betty Sue Sellers. The family would like to thank all of the friends and relatives that offered their support and love. A special thanks for Suzanne Shields, daughter Rachel and special friend Jeff for their unending support during this difficult time. The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue, west of Corey in Sylvania. Funeral services will be at Walker Funeral Home in Sylvania at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday followed by entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo.
