Walter W. Windisch, 88, of Oak Harbor, passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 6, 1932 in LaCarne, OH to Harold L. and Ivadelle M. (Zoschke) Windisch. On September 14, 1957 in Rocky Ridge, OH he married Doris A. Harder, and she survives. Walt served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956 during the Korean War. He worked for the Erie Army Depot, Eckrich, and Foremetal before retiring. Walt enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, eating out, trips to Las Vegas and Arizona, and sports including being an avid Ohio State University fan. Walt most loved his time with his family, especially his grandkids. In addition to his loving wife, Doris, of 63 years, Walt is survived by his daughters, Sue Ann (Steven) Tomor, Kathy Lynn (Richard) Bast, and Ann Marie (Scott) Schimming, grandchildren, Allison (Jacob) Seim, Emily (Kevin) Young, Bradley (Kathryn) Perry, Leslie (Alec) Bowlick, Zachary Tomor, Hannah (Austin) Vinson, step-grandchildren, Erica (Bryan) Laughlin and Rachel (Shaun) Yurista, great grandchildren, Evelyn Bowlick, Kory Young, Ryan Seim, and Daxton Bowlick, step-great grandchildren, Stella Laughlin, Claire Laughlin, Cordell Laughlin, and Carter Yurista, and sister-in-law, Mary Windisch. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Frederick and Ronald Windisch, and sister, Betty Greene. Visitation for Walt will be Monday, September 28, 2020 from 2-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. Per the state mandate, facial coverings are required and social distancing should be observed. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at St. John Lutheran Church, 450 Rocky Ridge Rd., Oak Harbor with burial to follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor with military graveside services conducted. Memorial contributions in memory of Walt may be given to the Organ Fund at St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge or Promedica Hospice, Clyde, OH.
