Walter Walczewski

February 2, 1926 — April 8, 2020

Walter Walczewski, age 94 of Rossford, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at the Manor at Perrysburg.  He was born on February 2, 1926 in Toledo to Andrew and Anna (Bugan) Walczewski.  Walter proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. After being honorably discharged in 1946 he went to work for American Motors (Chrysler-Jeep) retiring in 1987.  Walter was a long time member of All Saints Catholic Church and enjoyed Notre Dame Football and the Detroit Tigers. Surviving are his children, Garry (Brenda) and Sharon Cooper; grandchildren Corey and Chad Cooper; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Fred King; and brother in-law, James (Lamar Garcia) Reucher.  Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Walter was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Gertrude (Reucher); infant son, Gregory; 3 brothers; and 5 sisters. The family would like to thank the staff at the Manor at Perrysburg, Heartland Hospice and Comfort Keepers for the care given to Walter.  A special thanks to Johnette, Brooks and Berni Hartman for all the love and support. Due to current restrictions regarding public gatherings, visitation, Funeral Mass and interment will be private for the immediate family. The family suggests memorials in Walter’s memory be directed to All Saints Church.  The Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
