Walter Ed Edward Staple, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2018 in St. Lukes Hospital. He was born June 6, 1934 in Flint, Michigan to Walter and Effie (Blanchard) Staple. A veteran of the US Army, he was a retired executive from General Motors in Flint, Michigan. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Flint , Michigan for over 40 years and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Walter is survived by his wife of 62 years, Julie Staple; sons, Steven (Denise) Staple of Sylvania and John (LouAnne) Staple of Roseville, MI; sister, Margaret Slack of Lansing, MI; brother-in-law, David (Shiela) Estes; grandchildren, S. Paul (Kelly) Ferguson of Roseville, MI Travis (Ashley) Ferguson of St. Clair Shores, MI, Ashley (Michael) Felak of North Charleston, SC, Sarah (Kyle) Beauchamp of Menominee, MI, Julie (Joshua) Eldridge of Toledo, OH, Mary (Christopher) Skeels of Sylvania, OH; and great-grandchildren, Travis and Bryce Ferguson, Makenzie, Ariana and Ella Ferguson, Cameron Murray-Beauchamp and Lennix Beauchamp; and several nieces and nephews. Walter was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 at 11 AM in the McCord Rd. Christian Church, 4765 McCord Rd. Sylvania, Ohio 43560. The family suggests tributes in Walters name be directed to the Cherry St. Mission, 105 17th St. Toledo, Ohio 43604 or McCord Rd. Christian Church.
