Walter R King, Sr.

Walter R. King, Sr., age 80 , of Toledo, Ohio passed away at home May 3, 2016 under the care of his loving family, and the Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Walt was born on April 5, 1936 in Sciotoville, Ohio to Roland and Edna King, the seventh of thirteen children. Under the guidance of his mother whom he adored, she laid the foundation with knowledge of what a loving and close knit family could achieve. Not fame, not riches, but love , lots of love, humility, the need to laugh, to share, to work hard and most importantly all the little things life had to offer. Walt served eleven years, five months, and eight days in the United States Army. Upon his separtation from the Army, Walt made Northwest Ohio home for his family. He drove a fuel truck for Sun Oil for nine years, while starting a commercial and private sector painting business in which he did for the next forty-eight years. He is survived by his wife Debbie, his children, Walt (Kim), Angie (Paul), Carla (Bill), Katie (Rock) , Jeremy (Abbey), Ray Reno (Tracy) and Tammy Reno; seventeen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack, Mike and Ricky; sisters, Rolene, Joyce, Carol, Vicki and Gayle; and best friend Bill Mroziewicz. Walt was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Casey Scott, children, Kathy Reno and Lorry Reno, and siblings, Richard, Duran, Arnold and Audrey. Upon Walt’s request, there will be no services. Cremation will be provided by Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home. Any donations may be directed to the Perrysburg Hospice of Northwest Ohio. A celebration of life reception will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 10:30am.-1:30 pm. at the Rossford Recreation Center, 400 Dixie Highway, Rossford, Ohio.
