Walter Jablonski

October 7, 1925 — June 24, 2008

Walter Pete Jablonski, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 in Menard, TX while visiting some old Army friends on his annual trip out west. Pete was born in Toledo to Walter and Laura Jablonski on October 7, 1925. He was a proud veteran of the US Army serving in the European Theatre during WWII. Pete remained close to several of his Army buddies and looked forward to his annual trips to Texas to visit and reminisce with old friends. He loved spending time with his family and tending to the beautiful lawn and gardens of his West Toledo home. Pete was a lifetime member of VFW Frankowski Post #5530. Pete is survived by his daughter, Kathy John Von Hofen; granddaughters, Dianne Kaczmarek and Denese Tim Jones; great-grandchildren, Nikki, Patrick, Andrew, and Nadine; and special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Potter and Mr. and Mrs. Frankie Milan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Nadine Ann Miller Jablonski; brother, Donald Jablonski; and sisters, Pearl Garn and Laura Lind. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-9:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. where funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital or Hospice of Northwest Ohio
