Walter W. Diebert, 73, of Martin, died early Friday morning, May 22, 2015, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. Walter was born July 14, 1941, in Woodville Township, Ohio, to Arthur and Almeda Marie (Hagemyer) Diebert. On November 3, 1961, in Elliston, Ohio, he married Sandra K. Albright and she survives. Retiring in 2005, he had worked for Gordon Lumber Company in the warehouse and delivery. Prior to that, he worked at Guardian Industries and Stieger-Showels. Walter loved to hunt and fish and was the shanty cook at their camp, No Kill. He was an avid bowler and for many years bowled at Clay Center Bowling Alley and for the Northwood Jewelers Team for many years. Walter was a member of the Genoa Christian Church. Walter is survived by his loving wife, Sandra, children, Walter Kevin (Jennifer) Diebert, Kimberley M. (Todd Smith) Diebert and Kyle L. (Tammy) Diebert; grandchildren, Cassaundra, Aaron, Kyle II, Lauren, Megan, Samantha and Emily; and great grandchildren, Lilly and Haley. He is also survived by his siblings, Fred Diebert, John Diebert, Nancy Flick, June Newman and Linda Tanner. His parents, grandson, Shaun Gruetter, brother, Denver Diebert, and sister, Mildred Taylor, preceded him in death. A memorial service for Walter will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 28, 2015, at the Genoa Christian Church, corner of 5th and Main Streets in Genoa. The family has suggested that memorials for Walter be directed to the Genoa Christian Church, 415 Main St., Genoa, OH 43430; to the family; or the Allen-Clay Joint Fire Dist. #1, P.O. Box 154, Williston, OH 43468. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa has assisted the family with arrangements.
