Walter Corron died peacefully on January 15, 2022, at his home at the age of 61. He was born in Maumee on December 4, 1960, to Henry and Patricia Corron. He was one of nine children. Many of those close to him called him Walt. He had many friends that he made over the years working in the trades as a tile setter for Local 351. Two of the main places he used that skill were at Lakeside and with Brigham.
Walt was very handy and could fix just about anything. He always had a remodeling project going on for someone. He loved to fish and drink beer, but his favorite hangout was the American Legion in Maumee. He will be forever remembered there having a cold one, or two!
One of his dearest qualities was that he always snuck his grandkids Reeses peanut butter cups. He would find out ahead of time how many he needed at any gathering and then show up with his favorite chocolate treats. This earned him the best nickname of all, Reeses Papa.
Preceding him in death are his parents; siblings William Corron and Richard Corron.
Left here to cherish his memory are his children Jamie (Carrie) Luce, Jessica (Kevin) Yeager, Kendra (Jeremy) Craig, Bryan Corron and Melissa (Ryan) Wicker; sisters Mary Dunn, Margaret (Bob) Kabat, Kathy (Jeff) Schultz, Sandy (Jim) Heebsh, sister-in-law Pam Corron; brothers Jim Reeves, Robert (Debbie) Corron; many grandchildren, friends, and extended family.
Visitation will be held at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home at 501 Conant St. in Maumee on Thursday, January 20, from 3-7 pm. A service will be held to celebrate the life of Walt on Friday, January 21, at the funeral home at 11am. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
Please consider a donation to Hospice of NW Ohio in lieu of flowers.
