Walter E Bellamy

Walter E. Bellamy, 60, of Holland, Ohio passed away on October 8, 2013 at St. Lukes Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 8, 1953 in Toledo to Walter D. and Dorothy M. Bellamy. Walt was raised in East Toledo and graduated from Waite High School in 1972. He also graduated from Owens Community College in 2001 with an Associates Degree in Business Management Technology, and was currently working on his Bachelors degree at Lourdes University in Accounting and Finance. He was scheduled to graduate this December. Walt worked at a variety of job positions throughout his life, including at the Ace Hardware Warehouse, Dresser Industries, Owens Illinois, Schutz Container Systems, Brinks, and Spherion. He also was a bus driver for Rossford Schools and Southwyck Bowling Lanes. He was currently driving charter students for Student Transit in Toledo. Walt had a strong work ethic, was a firm believer in challenging himself academically and instilled those beliefs in his children. When he wasnt working or in school, he enjoyed cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, OSU Buckeyes, and Detroit Tigers. Preceding Walt in death were his parents and brothers Ralph, Rick, and Steve. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jessica Schuyler Hartman, Toledo, and son, Christopher CJ Bellamy, Holland. He was the proud grandpa of 6-month old granddaughter, Hannah M. Hartman. Also surviving Walt are his sisters Rosemary Bob Price, Michigan, Chris Ray Rowland, Texas, and Gloria Bellamy, Toledo. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, friends, and mother of his children, Phyllis Haas. Visitation with the family and friends will be Sunday, October 20 from 12-4:00pm at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee followed by a Celebration of Life potluck at Grace United Methodist Church, 601 E. Boundary, Perrysburg from 4:30 - 6:30pm. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider his children care of Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home or the Toledo Humane Society.
