Wallace R. Lockhart, 88, of Genoa, OH died Friday afternoon, August 3, 2007 in Hospice of Notrthwest Ohio, Toledo, OH. Wallace was born in Corbin, KY to Theo & Agnes Nevels Lockhart. He married Margaret L. Wilderin London, KY on Nov. 26, 1947, and she preceded him in death on December 3, 2004.Wallace and his wife owned and operated the former Hay-Lo Market in Genoa for 28 years retiring in 2000. He had also worked for the B & O railroad for over 30 years, retiring in 1984. Wallace served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on the USS San Francisco during the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941. Later he participated in the attack and sinking of a Japanese aircraft carrier in the Pacific. He was a member of the Genoa American Legion Post #324, the Royal Arch Masons, and the Genoa Lodge. he enjoyed visiting with people and liked to watch old western movies in his spare time.Survivors include his son Bob hayes of Genoa, daughter, Sue Reeder of Ferndale, MI, brother Bob Mildred Lockhart of Corbim, KY, 8 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, E.G. and Bud Lockhart and sister, Elizabeth Lockhart.
