Wadad (Woodie) Gunselman, 93, passed away quietly during the night on May 1, 2021 at Otterbein Perrysburg Senior Living. Wadad, the daughter of Thomas and Maheeba (Mabel) Baz, graduated from Woodward High School in Toledo and was often seen working in her father’s Red and White grocery store on Erie Street during her teen years. She married the love of her life, Jim Gunselman, in 1948 and together raised three daughters. They especially enjoyed traveling together but there was nothing she loved more than a family get-together, especially if all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren were there. Her sweet personality made her everyone’s favorite person. She often said she was raised in a joyful home and she created the same warm and loving home for her own family. Wadad loved young people and was a favorite Girl Scout troop leader at Blessed Sacrament. She also enjoyed bowling, playing cards and games but especially loved painting with water colors. There wasn’t a flower she had not created on canvas. She especially enjoyed painting with her friends at the Sylvania Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; daughter, Pat Cressler; grandson, Chadd Cressler; and her four brothers, Joseph, George, James and Thomas Baz. Left mourning her loss are her daughters, Chris (Rob) Wood and Sandy (Jim) Buczkowski; son-in-law, Tim Cressler; grandchildren, Torri (Chris) Daggett, Jeremy (Brandy) Chambers, Keith (Bibiana Mosquero) Wood and Janelle Chambers; great-grandchildren include Jeremy L. and Kiersten Chambers, Colton and Mitchell Powaski and Cassandra Daggett. A special thank you goes out to the staff at Otterbein Perrysburg for the care and attention they gave her. Friends will be received at the Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, Rossford on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 3-8 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, May 15, 2021 in St. Clement’s Catholic Church 3030 Tremainsville Rd. Toledo after 9 am where the funeral mass will be held at 10 am.
