Vivian E. Corbin

Vivian E. Corbin, 98, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by her loving family. Vivian was born March 3, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to Christian and Gudrun (Jespersen) Sorensen. She married William Corbin, Jr. on August 17, 1946 in Chicago and they shared 62 years together until he passed on June 25, 2009.

Vivian worked for over 30 years for Owens Illinois, retiring in 1987. She was an avid member of Zoar Lutheran Church where she was part of the Altar Guild and even earned the title of President. She enjoyed playing Bridge and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children; Cheryl (Jon) Mercurio and Gregory Corbin; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and her brother, Gordon (David Cegelski) Sorensen. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and sister, June (Matthew) Blackwell.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 10-12 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held at Noon. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery.
