Vita A. Light, 92, of Russellville, AR and formerly of Catawba Island, passed away Monday, June 2, 2008 at Morrilton Health Care in Arkansas. She was born in Detroit, MI on June 5, 1915, the daughter of Ernst and Herdis Rigmor Graugaard Shultz. On September 18, 1939 in Petosky, MI she married Guy W. Light Jr. and he preceded her in death on June 18, 1995. Vita was a teacher for the Port Clinton City Schools. She taught in various cities in Ohio totaling 30 years of teaching, retiring in 1979.. She was a former member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Port Clinton, OH and a member of All Saints Episcopal in Russellville, AR. Survivors include: Son: Guy William Rocky Light; Daughter: Margaret Paul Robinson; Grandson: Erik Linda Light; Granddaughters: Valerie Danny Jones and Elaine Tuell; 3Great-Grandchildren: Corey Light, Amber Light and Griffin Jones. Vita was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Erik and Ernst Jr. Shultz and sister Betsy. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00AM, Monday, June 09, 2008 in Catawba Island Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions in Vitas memory can be given to Catawba Island Township. Local arrangements were handled by the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH.
