Virginia Witt, 88, of Oak Harbor, died Friday morning, November 6, 2009, in Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born January 1, 1921, in Salem Township, Oak Harbor, Ohio, to Robert C. and Bessie Mackey Suhrbier. On April 5, 1941, in Port Clinton, Ohio, she married Robert T. Witt, who preceded her in death July 16, 2000. Virginia was a homemaker, who enjoyed baking pies, especially for the Oak Harbor Apple Festival, enjoyed quilting and playing cards. She had also been an Avon saleslady for many years. Virginia was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor and the Sarah Circle. She is survived by her sons, Gary R. Judy Witt, Lee W. Becky Witt, and Lynn A. Georgia Witt, all of Oak Harbor, daughters, Nola J. DeeWayne Brindley of Oak Harbor, and Sue A. Charles Truesdale of Circleville, OH; 18 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren; sister, Norma Richard Branum of Oak Harbor, and sister-in-law, Joanne Suhrbier of Charlotte, NC. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Robert C., Lowell G. and his wife E. May, and Harold A. Suhrbier, and grandson, Justin Robert. The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Healthcare Station 6, Magruder Hospital and Stein Hospice for all of the compassion and wonderful care they received. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Sunday, November 8, 2009, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory of Oak Harbor. The funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2009, in St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, with interment to follow in Roose Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials for Virginia to St. Pauls Lutheran Church.
