Virginia June Wilkins, 92, of Clyde, OH and formerly Oak Harbor, OH passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at her daughter’s home. She was born on June 11, 1930 in Tiffin, OH to Paul C. and Mildred (Ready) Creeger. Virginia graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1948. On April 27, 1955 in Angola, IN she married Charles E. Wilkins, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2002. Virginia previously worked for American Bank in Port Clinton for 5 years, Kroger Store in Port Clinton for 20 years, and then for the Ottawa County Courthouse for 6 years before retiring in 1984. She was a previous member of LaPointe United Methodist Church, where she served as the choir director for years and member of First United Methodist Church in Clyde. Virginia was artistically talented and enjoyed singing, dancing, ballet, tap dancing, participating in little theatre, being a drum majorette, and singing in the Terra College Choir. She was self-taught on the piano and guitar, and taught her son, Mark how to play guitar. One story she liked to share was that she had met the Munchkins from the Wizard of Oz and danced with one of them. Virginia enjoyed her flowers and gardening. She loved her animals too, especially Tippy, Oreo, Ubu, Teddy, and Frisky.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Michael (June) Wilkins of Vermilion, OH and Mark (Kasey) Wilkins of Port Clinton, daughters, Sharon (Franklin) Smith of Clyde and Janice (Gordon) Brugman of Sevierville, TN, 9 grandchildren, Michelle Tobin, Kelly (Chris) Park, Heather (Michael) Martinez, Justin (Staci) Limestahl, Kristin Holland, Erin Wilkins, Adam (Kate) Wilkins, Chad (Susan) Wilkins, and Courtney (Nick) Baker, and numerous step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death her parents, husband, Charles E. Wilkins, former husband, Verne McClory, and step-brothers, Paul E. and Jack A. Creeger.
Visitation for Virginia will be Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 2-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor where funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Chuck Kaylor at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022. Burial will follow in Rusha Cemetery, Carroll Township, OH. Memorial contributions in memory of Virginia may be given to Promedica Heartland Hospice, Alzheimer’s Association, or the American Cancer Society.
