Virginia Helen Van Etten

Van Etten Virginia Helen Ginny Virginia H. Van Etten, age 83, passed away Thursday, November 05, 2009 at Flower Hospital in Sylvania. Ginny was born on August 20, 1926 in Toledo to Franklin and Mable Van Karsen. She was a 1942 graduate of DeVilbiss High School and was an active member of the DeVilbiss retiree group. Ginny was the ultimate homemaker. She always had a clean house and loved cooking and baking for her family. She enjoyed packing picnic breakfasts to share with friends and family in the park. Ginny was happiest when the whole family was together and loved traveling. She was a founding member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Ginny is survived by her husband, Melvin Mel Van Etten; son, Ronald Kathy Van Etten; daughters, Susan Pat Monaghan, Sharon Bob Thomas and Sandy Traczyk; grandchildren, Chris, Sarah, Kevin, Andrea, Craig, Lindsay, and Karly; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Alex, and Parker; step-grandson, Taylen; and sisters, Patricia Wesley Van Etten and Linda Kenneth Currie. She was preceded in death by parents and son-in-law, Mark Traczyk. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-8:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd.. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
