Virginia M. “Ginny” Steiner, 93, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Tuesday, March 01, 2016, at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, OH. Virginia was born June 11, 1922, in Nesquehoning, PA, the daughter of Father George Simchak and Mrs. Margaret (Ruttkay) Simchak. Virginia married Alfred E. Steiner and he preceded her in death in 2010. She worked for General Motors in Sandusky, OH, for 33 years until her retirement in 1990. Virginia was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church and the altar rosary society, Marblehead, OH. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Homer D. Gardner Post #2480, Port Clinton, OH. Left to cherish her memory: Daughter: Sylvia Hudec; Sister: Victoria Fatiga; Grandchildren: Sherrie (Jason) McClaren and Steve Hudec; 2 Great-Grandchildren and Niece: Michelle Fatiga. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Melinda M. Steiner, sister: Eva Simchak and brothers: Michael and Paul Simchak. The Office of Christian Burial will be conducted by Father Robert Kelly at 9:30AM, Saturday, March 05, 2016 at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Marblehead, OH, where the body will lie in state one hour before the service from 8:30 to 9:30. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Virginia may be given to St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 506 E. Main St., Marblehead, OH 43440.
