After 93 years of giving to others, Virginia E. Moll (Sala) died peacefully at home on July 27, 2015. She was born in Toledo on August 26, 1921 to Errett M. and Helen May Sala (Neukom), who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, William A. Moll III and her brother, Errett “Buddy” Sala. Growing up in Toledo, Virginia attended Devilbiss High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science from the University of Toledo. Her love for the Rockets never stopped. She and her husband, “Bill” continued to follow the Rockets as they moved across several states returning to Toledo in 1975. In recent years her “Rocket calendar” had the dates of every football and basketball game. She loved to attend games but when she was unable to attend, or watch the games on television, she resorted to listening to the radio broadcast. She could be heard yelling GO ROCKETS with every point they scored. She lovingly raised her three children, Marcia E. (Rick Sicha) Moll, William A. (Nancy) Moll IV, and Susan E. Irmen. From taking them to Ballet classes, Concert Jazz performances, and riding lessons to her devotion to the community, Virginia always recognized the need to put others before herself. Her service to the community included St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary and The Toledo Symphony Guild. She was also very active in several garden clubs throughout her life. Virginia, better known to the following loved ones as G.G., is survived by her grandchildren; James William Irmen (Krysta Adamczyk), Victoria Elisabeth (Irmen) Malenfant (Ben), Chrissy (Hutchison) Kernodle (Matt), and Travis (Tiffany) Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Brody Irmen, Natalie Malenfant, Camron and Ashley Kernodle, Aiden and Alex Hutchinson. Virginia’s wishes were to be cremated with no visitation and placed in the Memorial Garden next to her husband at The First Presbyterian Church of Maumee. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider The University of Toledo Rocket Fund or ProMedica Hospice. Arrangements by Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee, Ohio.
