Virginia “Gini” L. (Neeley) Feller, 57, of Genoa, Ohio passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Gini was born to Robert and Barbara Neeley on October 9,1963. She was a 1982 graduate of Waite High School and eventually went on to graduate with her Bachelor’s of Nursing degree, attending Mercy College and Lourdes University. This began her 34-year journey as a bedside ICU nurse, manager, and educator. Gini married the love of her life and best friend, Jeffrey Feller, on May 18, 1991. They spent 30 inseparable years together laughing, loving, and cherishing one another. As best friends, every aspect of their lives was enjoyed as one. Gini was a very nurturing and caring person, inspired by her Grandma “Darling” Martha Neeley Thomas who was also a nurse. Gini was called to serve in the field of nursing and worked at St. Charles Hospital for 27 years in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. She also served at Toledo Hospital as a Manager of Utilization Review for 5 years. Despite many health issues, Gini continued to work in the healthcare field up until she received a double lung transplant. Gini cared for her patients as if they were her own and found joy and passion in educating, guiding, and leading those beside her in her passion. She had earned the respect of all of those working for her and beside her. Many of which, nurses and physicians alike, would seek her guidance. Along with nursing, Gini loved spending time with her husband, Jeff. Be it working in the yard, watching sports in person or on TV, loving on the kids and grandchildren or just taking a drive. All that mattered was that they did it together. Gini also loved cooking for others, reading, staying up on current events and cuddling with her beloved cats Sophie and Piper. Gini was a woman of many titles: Wife, Mom, Gigi, Grandma, Friend, Sister, caregiver, fighter, leader, protector, cheerleader, supporter, and encourager. Her favorite of them all was caretaker. She loved to love and touched the hearts of many that she came into contact with. Of the many titles that she held, stranger was never one of them. She was loved beyond measure and touched the hearts of everyone she ever met. She will never be forgotten because she has left many parts of her in the lives that she has touched throughout her time. Gini’s warm smile and positive attitude made others feel loved and welcomed. Everyone who knew her was drawn to her kind nature and loving spirit. Gini knew no stranger and loved everyone as her own. As the matriarch of the family, she would bend backwards to ensure that everyone’s plates were filled, hearts were happy, and she was always quick to step up and be the protector when it was necessary. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years who was by her side in both sickness and in health being an exemplar of true unconditional, agape love - Jeffrey Feller; her children, Jeffrey (Erin) Feller, Jamie (Larry “Lavender”) Mittendorf, Justine (Emily) Howland-Feller and Jessica Feller; 13 grandchildren, Jacob, Caden, Addyson, Adilynn, Bentleigh, Maddyson, Michael, Abby, Morgen, Regan, Saphira, and Aries; her three siblings, Leanna (Jim) Neshkoff, Mike (Karla) Neeley, and Patti Neeley; brothers-in-law, Ron Feller and Rick (Glenna) Feller; sister-in-law, Julie Feller Miller; and special and best friend of 34 years Teresa (Mike) Swanson. Gini is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Matevia Neeley; father, Robert Neeley; her grandmothers, Martha Neeley Thomas and Margaret Matevia, who both were such an inspiration on her life. There will be a service held in her memory on Saturday, February 6th, at 11:00 am in the sanctuary at St. John’s United Church of Christ 1213 Washington St. Genoa, OH 43430, and a celebration of life to follow at Ole Zims Wagon Shed, 1375 N, OH 590, Gibsonburg, OH 43431. Please wear a mask and observe social distancing protocols as that would be the way Gini would expect it to be. Special thanks to all nurses and physicians who cared for Gini; The Cleveland Clinic Transplant Team, Dr. Ravi Narra, Dr. Karl Fernandes, Dr. Nagi Bishara and Dr. Femi Afolabi. Gini was a woman of faith and a supporter of organ donation. She was very grateful to be an organ donation recipient. Our family was blessed to be able to spend two and a half more years with her because of a gracious donor who provided her with a double lung transplant. In lieu of flowers, please send all donations to Life Connections of Ohio 3661 Briarfield Blvd. Suite 105 Maumee, OH 43537 and St. John’s United Church of Christ 1213 Washington St. Genoa, OH 43430.
