Virginia E. Gaydeski, 89, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Heartland of Hospice. She was born to Mary (Ozarl) and Adam Budzelik in Vandergrift, PA. on June 29, 1924. Not long after Virginia and her family lost their home in the Jonestown flood. Virginia married Edward P. “Eddie” Gaydeski on November 12, 1943 (Armistice Day). One day later Eddie was shipped out and was fighting in the Pacific Theater. Virginia kept busy by packing bullets and naval shells at Acme Die Co., in Latrobe, PA. for the war effort. When Eddie was wounded, highly decorated, and came state side they commenced building a family. Virginia and Edward were blessed with 3 sons and a daughter. Virginia worked relentlessly in life for her family and also became an incremental part of several notable families as well; the John H. Thomas family, the Duane Stranahan family, and the Norm Witzler family as a caregiver and trusted advocator. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband in 1983, Edward P. Gaydeski; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters. She is survived by her children, Michael S. (Nancy) Gaydeski, Sandra Stanford, Patrick P. Gaydeski and Lawrence E. (Rosa) Gaydeski; sister, Irene and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends will be received at Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary St., Perrysburg (419-874-3133) on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 3:00pm-8:00pm where a scripture service will be held at 7:00pm. On Friday, June 20 prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:45am with a funeral service at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St. starting at 10:30am. Burial will follow at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery.
