Virginia Leslie Cairl, 54, of Oak Harbor, Ohio passed away suddenly, April 16, 2022, in her residence. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on February 10, 1968, the daughter of Kenneth E. and Linda L. (Davis) Derifield. Virginia received her associate degree and had been working as a pharmacy technician.
Virginia was a very loving mother and grandmother who centered her life around her family. Making sure she saw to their every need with a warm touch and infectious smile. She liked to read, especially Danielle Steele novels and recently murder mysteries. Her nephew was also a writer and she read everything he has written. Virginia also enjoyed fishing for catfish, along with perch and walleye. She enjoyed collecting hummingbirds as they were a spiritual sign for her, crafting and creating intricate fairy gardens. She also enjoyed shooting pool and at one time, was a member of three different leagues. Virginia had a great love for animals, especially her dog Roxy, that was her “baby girl”.
Virginia is survived by her children, Brock Diebert, Brandon Diebert, Acacia (Brian) Knecht, grandchildren, Bentlee Thurston, Logan Knecht and Wesley Knecht, and sisters, Lucinda (Aaron) Wolfe and Melisa (Monte) Porter, her husband, Michael A. Cairl and Lawrence S. Diebert, her ex-husband and father of her children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth & Linda Derifield.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 PM, on Monday, April 25, 2022, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio, followed by an informal Family & Friends Blessing at 6:00 PM, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Humane Society of Ottawa County, 2424 E. Sand Road, Port Clinton, Ohio, 43452.
