Virginia J. Breeze

Virginia J. “Ginny” Breeze, 98, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2023. She was born in Toledo to Joseph and Julia (Long) Napierala on July 14, 1925. As a young woman, Ginny worked at Champion Spark Plug. One of Ginny’s favorite things to do was dance, she often walked many blocks in her high heels to meet up with friends at the dance halls. Ginny married the love of her life, Richard Breeze. She worked part time in the stationery department at LaSalle’s while they raised their five wonderful children. She enjoyed traveling with Richard to the warm southern states, especially Florida. A skilled card player, Ginny loved playing euchre and pinochle. She had a very close friend group, affectionately calling themselves the “Golden Girls”, that enjoyed going out and traveling together often. Her favorite treat, Lay’s potato chips, could always be found at her home, and she loved bowling, golfing, cooking, and her flower garden.

Ginny is survived by her children, Sue (Randy) Yeager, Mike (Cindy) Breeze, Jim (Betty) Breeze Sandy (Pat) Kennedy, Lori Breeze; grandchildren, Krista, Jeff, Katie, Zac, Samantha, Patrick; eight great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and six siblings.

Friends are invited to gather on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at Christ the King, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, OH 43623, until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the caring staff at Kingston of Sylvania and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving support to Virginia.
