Virginia Louise Bollin, 93, died June 2, 2016 at St. Anne’s Hospital. Born September 14, 1922 in Toledo to the late Ernest and Jennie (Keel) VanDeilen, she married Harold G. Bollin on November 24, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1991. Virginia was also preceded in death by a brother, James VanDeilen; sister, Yvonne Kaighin; and granddaughter, Stephanie Bollin. A devoted mother and homemaker, Virginia’s family was always first in her life. She enjoyed hosting Sunday family dinners at their summer home at Allen Cove, MI, where Virginia also spent many hours fishing with grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Parish and its Rosary Altar Society and was currently a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish. Virginia was a skilled pianist, playing by ear, and also enjoyed playing cards, BINGO and Pokeno with her friends. She also loved to visit Las Vegas and Windsor and will be fondly remembered for her easy-going and pleasant personality. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Ellen (Weldon) Hollar, Mike (Nancy), Dan (Becky), Bob (Debbie) and Scott (Julie Caris) Bollin; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Sunday in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday June 6, 2016. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
