Virginia Lee Bevins

Virginia Lee Bevins, 82, of Port Clinton, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton, OH, surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born on May 03, 1930 in Luellen, KY, the daughter of Frank and Rhoda Stidham Maggard. She was married to Willard Barnette and he preceded her in death. Virginia was a member of the Brush Harbor Church in Gypsum, OH, where she loved attending and singing at church. She volunteered at the Port Clinton Senior Center. Virginia enjoyed bowling, she loved all the activities at Edgewood especially bingo and getting her hair and nails done. She especially loved spending time with her children and her grand-children. Virginia will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Daughters: Shirley Larry Geist of Northumberland, PA, Carolyn Arthur Royster of Oak Harbor, OH and Marcella Dave Mowel of Port Clinton and Like a Daughter: Kay Williams of Port Clinton; Special Brother-in-Law: Coy Barker of Chicago, IL; 12 Grandchildren, several Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandson and several Step-Grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons: Danny Barker and Bobbie Witt, 1 brother and 4 sisters. Visitation will be 5-9PM, Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral service will be 11:00AM, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in the funeral home. Interment will be in Sackett Cemetery, Marblehead, OH. Memorial donations in memory of Virginia may be given to the Stein Hospice or Edgewood Manor Activities Fund.
