Virgil L. Zeller, 92, of Genoa, died Monday morning, February 13, 2012, in the Genoa Retirement Village. He was born April 6, 1919, in Clay Center, Ohio, to Lee and Lucille Chambers Zeller. On December 31, 1943, in Amarillo, Texas, he married Lillian H. Avery, who preceded him in death March 27, 1994. Virgil was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. He greatly enjoyed his life of farming and working at home. He was a former member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Genoa. He is survived by his daughter, Judith A. Ron Gniewkowski, and son, Ronald L. Cathy Zeller, both of Genoa, his grandchildren, Julie Mike Jacobs and Jim Heather Zeller, and great grandchildren, Tabor Lee and Isaiah Husain. His parents and wife preceded him in death. Private interment services were held in Clay Township Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials for Virgil to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory of Genoa has assisted the family with arrangements.
