Violet G. Simons

Violet G. Simons, age 99, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Kingston of Sylvania. The daughter of Henry and Agnes Freiman, she was born November 28, 1919 in Toledo. She attended Libbey High School. She married Richard Simons on April 19, 1941 in Toledo at Bethany Lutheran Church. Violet remained an active member of Bethany Lutheran, especially with the Womens Circle. She enjoyed many summers at Round Lake and played Bunco on Friday nights. Family was most important to her and she took many memorable trips with them. She is survived by her children, Janice Powers, Marlene Knapik, Ronald (Judy) Simons; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; sons-in-law, George Knapik, Larry Powers and 2 great grandchildren. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 2-7 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd) where funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p..m. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice or Bethany Lutheran Church.
