Violet J. Laubacher

Violet J. Laubacher, 88, of Oak Harbor died Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born on March 25, 1927 in Oak Harbor to Rollin and Leona (Minke) Empcke. On August 13, 1948 in Kentucky she married Oliver “Brick” Laubacher, and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1999. Violet worked for J. Weller Co. in Oak Harbor and as a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, Epsilon Eta Sorority, and the Oak Harbor V.F.W. #8732 Auxiliary. Violet is survived by her daughters: Linda (Wayne) Sandrock of Elmore and Janice Taylor of Toledo, 3 Grandsons, and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Donald, Glenn, and James Empcke, and son-in-law: Gilbert Taylor. Visitation will be Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 3, 2015 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions in memory of Violet can be given to St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, Heartland Hospice, or Mid-County E.M.S.
