Viola C. Blausey

Viola C. Blausey, 92, of Genoa, died Monday, September 22, 2008, in St. Charles-Mercy Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. Viola was born May 19, 1916, in Toledo, Ohio, to Charles and Bertha Forth Knapp. On September 29, 1938, in Toledo she married Victor Vic G. Blausey and he preceded her in death October 29, 2007. In the early 1970s Viola worked many years as sales clerk for the former Woolworth Co. She was a member of the New Century Club of Genoa and St. Johns United Church of Christ in Genoa, where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years. Viola had a special love for her family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her other interests included crossword puzzles, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Viola is survived by her children: Sandra Stewart Logan of Lighthouse Pt., FL, Jerry Karen Blausey of Marietta, GA, Linda Ted Gordon of Curtice, Tom Blausey of Genoa, and Marilyn Hively of Sandusky; grandchildren: Lori Perry, John Deann Blausey, Vicki Rick Coy, Emily Paul Roach, Aurora Hively, Bob Hannia Duncan, and Willie Gina Duncan; great grandchildren: Steven, Jake, Ceiarra, Louie, Hannah, Julia, Gabriela, Isabel, Michael, Logan, Cooper, and honorary granddaughter, Kimberly Reitzel. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Dorothy Blausey, and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Visitation and funeral services will be private with Brother George Goodrich officiating. Burial will take place in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. The family has suggested memorials for Viola to the Allen-Clay Joint Fire Dist. #3, Genoa. Arrangements have been handled by the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa. The family wishes to express a special thank-you to Tami, Diane, Sara and Rick for all their special love and care; also, appreciation to Lori at St. Charles heart clinic and to her wonderful nurses at St. Charles.
