Vincent Joseph Simon Jr., 67, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at his home in Waterville.
Vince was born on November 1, 1958, in Toledo to Dorothy and Vincent Simon Sr. He attended St. Rose Elementary School and graduated from St. John's Jesuit High School. Vince went on to attend Bowling Green State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree. He worked at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center for 44 years before retiring in March 2025.
Vince was a man who showed up for the people he loved. His kids and grandkids could always count on him being in the audience-whether for sporting events, dance recitals, or awards banquets-rarely missing an opportunity to support those he cared about. A lifelong fitness enthusiast, Vince competed in several marathons and triathlons in his 30s and later enjoyed cycling and kayaking with friends and family. Some of the best times in his life were spent at Clark Lake and Long Lake in Michigan. Vince loved traveling anywhere, as long as the day ended at a restaurant with a big dinner and a tall beer.
Left to miss him dearly are his partner, Kim Keyer; his children, Stephanie (Jon), VJ (Bradlie), and Eric (Rachel); his stepchildren, Alex (Denae), Aaron, and Ellen (Colin); and his grandchildren, Dylan, Lila, Gabby, Tenley, Laney, Vinnie, Taylor, Avery, Landon, and Sophia. Vince is also survived by his mother, Dot; his brothers, Tom (Kim) and Bill; his sisters, Cindy (Pete) and Jennifer (Dave); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Simon Sr.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, February 5, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, OH 43537. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 6, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Broadway St., Maumee, OH 43537.
Vince's family hopes you'll honor him by spending time with loved ones, getting outside, and ending the day with a good meal, a tall beer, and some live music.
