Victor Arnold Gressler

Oct 19, 1925 — Oct 22, 2026

Victor Gressler, age 101, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026. Born to Carl and Viola Gressler, Victor lived a remarkable life spanning more than a century.

Victor is survived by his step-daughter, Barbara Kurtz; son, Scott Gressler; daughter, Vicki Rosie; and grandsons, Todd (Missy) Kurtz and Ryan (Tracy) Kurtz. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred "Midge" Gressler.

Music was one of Victor's greatest passions. He loved country music and was especially proud of the time he spent playing with his band, the Maumee Valley Boys.

Victor was a very proud Navy Veteran from WWII. He was a gunner on a Navy ship, the USS Sommelsdyk, in the Pacific for 3 years. During the war he received the Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, American Area Campaign Medal and Letter of Commendation. Victor was also honored to participate in an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., where he visited the World War II Memorial. The experience meant a great deal to him, and he often spoke fondly of the trip.

Among his happiest memories were the years he and Midge spent traveling together in their motorhome. They enjoyed seeing new places and the adventures that came with life on the road.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2026 at 11:00 am at Whitehouse Cemetery. Condolences can be shared under Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee, OH at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com
