Vickie Jean Mckenty

Vickie J. McKenty, age 61 of Toledo, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. She was born February 16, 1952 in Toledo, OH to George and Carol Carver. She graduated from Ida High School and went on to receive a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Toledo. Vickie was a dedicated elementary school teacher for Springfield Local Schools for 32.5 years. She enjoyed teaching, and loved travelling and camping. She was also a devoted University of Michigan football fan, having been a season ticket holder for almost 20 years. Vickie had a selfless heart and a nurturing soul. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 15 years, Robert J. McKenty; sisters, Jackie Wolfe, Sonie Carver; brother Rich Carver; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved puppy, Annie Arbor. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey on Friday from 12 noon-9 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 AM in Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4030 Douglas Rd, Toledo.
