Vickie J. Allen

Vickie J. Allen age 68 of Whitehouse, Ohio formerly of Swanton, OH passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at St. Lukes Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Vickie was born in Toledo on July 7, 1948 to Harold and Molly (Womack) Galbraith. She was employed for many years at the former Swanton Sports Center. Vickie was a graduate of Anthony Wayne High School/Penta County Vocational School. She enjoyed bowling, family, knitting, Sunnys Campground; traveling with her husband in their motor home and having fun with her sisters. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Surviving is her loving husband of 50 years, David M. Allen Sr.; children, David M. (Jenni) Allen Jr., Michael D. (Jodi) Allen, Dawn R. (Nagarjunreddy Nag) Atugonza, Scott D. (Niki) Allen; grandchildren, Ryan, Brendan, Alexa, Taylor, John, Molly, Christopher, Cody, Chase, Courtney, Landon, Kendyl, and Angelo. Vickie was also a nana to Avhyah and Dominic. Also surviving are her siblings, Becky Taylor, Michael (Denise) Galbraith, Sandy (David) Komarisek, Karen (Darryl) Weaver, Sharon (Kenneth) Wilson, Gay (Brian) Keiser and Dean (Denise) Galbraith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Angel Cranston; sister, Suzan Thatcher and brother in-law, David Taylor. The family would like to thank Vickies nurse, Amber Serna and her home health care aide, Martha Durfey for their friendship and exceptional care Vickie received. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St., Maumee on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 2-7 PM. A service will begin at 7:00 PM immediately following visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Humane Society, 827 Illinois Ave. Maumee, OH 43537.
