Rev. Vernon F. Richmeier, age 73, of Toledo went home with Jesus suddenly on Tuesday December 22, 2009 surrounded by his family. He was born in Studley, Kansas on March 11, 1936 to Fred and Filomena Richmeier. Vern met his wife, the former Marlene Streeter in Garden City, Kansas they married and moved to Wichita, KS where they raised four children, during this time he was employed as a carpenter. In 1972 they moved to Texas so Vern could attend Bible College. After entering the ministry, Vern and his wife began Mission for Children, a foster home. It was during this time that their fifth child arrived. Vern pastored several churches in Texas until the winter of 1999 when he and Marlene moved to Ohio to assist their son in the operation of a group home. Shortly after, Vern began pastoring at Trinity Assembly of God in Woodville, Ohio, a position he held until his death. Preceded in death by his grandson Wyatt Richmeier, sister Helen and infant brother, he is survived by his loving wife of nearly 52 years, Marlene; children Gayla Martin Vieta, Vern Anita Richmeier, Chris Christine Richmeier, Kyle Laura Richmeier and Samuel Fawn Richmeier; 10 grandchildren; and brothers Elmer and Cleo Richmeier. Friends may call at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. West of Corey on Monday from 4-6 PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 PM in The Dwelling Place, 8201 Angola Rd. Holland, Ohio. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
