Vernon G. Harder, 87, of Martin, died Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. He was born on April 3, 1924 in Oak Harbor to Gottfried and Clara Luebke Harder. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor and really loved his church. Vernon enjoyed helping on the family farm, latch hooking, puzzles, coloring books, pictures in magazines, listening to music, walking, and the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Vernon is survived by his sister: Bernice Dale Kline of Graytown, brother: Allen Beverly Harder of Martin, sister-in-laws: Thelma Harder of Oak Harbor, Caroline Harder of Gibsonburg, and Kathryn Harder of Mantua, OH, and brother-in-law: William Krieger of Oak Harbor. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Franklin, David, and Morton Harder, and sister: Eileen Krieger. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, with interment to follow in Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, OH. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Oak Harbor and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Vernon may be given to the Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor or St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor.
