Vernon W. Joe Goetz

Vernon Joe W. Goetz, 86, of Rocky Ridge, Ohio, died Friday, September 22, 2017 in his residence. He was born in Oak Harbor, Ohio on February 27, 1931 to William F. and Elnore (Fillmore) Goetz. He was a press operator for 17 years for Formetal, of Oak Harbor, retiring in 1985. He was a former member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Rocky Ridge. He enjoyed playing cards on Sunday afternoons with his friends. Joe is survived by his brother Norbert (Brenda) Goetz, nieces & Nephews, great niecews & nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Virginia Hodges, Violet Floriana, infant sisters, Velma Goetz and Vera Goetz, brothers, Vernell, Harry, Leon, Virgil Goetz, and infant brothers, Harry Fillmore Goetz and Oswald Goetz. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 28, 2017 in the Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, Ohio. Memorial contributions for Joe may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church, 450 N. Rocky Ridge Rd., Rocky Ridge, OH 43458 or the Donors Choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, OH 43449.
