Verena C. Daup Weiss

Verena Catherine Daup Weiss, 102, of Oak Harbor, died Friday morning, July 27, 2007, in Riverview Healthcare Campus. Verena was born January 3, 1905, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Charles and Anna Homerick Scheier. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Daup, who died in 1955 and her second husband, Raymond Weiss, who died in 1968. Verena worked at Thermo Disc in Mansfield and also at Vanatta Laundry in Oak Harbor. She was a member of LaPointe United Methodist, Port Clinton, for 30 years, as well as the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Erie Twp. Ladies Auxiliary, the Erie Twp. Mothers Club, and the I.W.G. club in Lacarne.Verena is survived by her son, Garold Gerry Daup, two grandsons, Dennis Daup and Robert KayLeen Daup, and three great grandchildren, Lindsey Daup, Kenneth Daup, and Kelly Daup. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, grandson, Jerry Daup, brother, Earl Scheier, and sisters, Mary Burghard and Mildred Nicholas.Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2007, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2007, in the funeral home with interment to follow in Hill Top Cemetery, Mansfield. Memorial contributions for Verena may be directed to LaPointe United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, or Stein Hospice.
