Vera C. Schrein

Vera Catherine Schrein age 96 of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born in Toledo on July 7, 1921 to Etny and Matilda (Schmutz) Lentz. Vera was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee. She enjoyed reading, music and spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Jean T. (Ray) Helminski, Donna M. Goins and John J. (Sue) Schrein. 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Schrein; sons, Charles Butch and Donald Schrein; granddaughter, Beverly Goins; and sisters, Lucille Ford and Marie Leonard. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, OH on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 PM and Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 PM. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. The funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 12 Noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church 104 W. Broadway, Maumee. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
