Vera Frances Moore, 87, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 26, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Vera was born March 27, 1930 to Roy and Lelah (Bellman) Miller in Sylvania, Ohio. Vera is an alumnus of Swanton High School. She married her husband, David Moore Sr., on April 7, 1950 in Monclova, Ohio. Vera and David were married for 66 years. David preceded her in death on May 26, 2016. She was a Nursery School Teacher at Sunny Acres prior to her retirement in 1992. She was a very dedicated member of Holland Free Methodist Church and also taught Sunday School for many years at the Church. Vera had a special and unique bond with her family and friends that made everyone feel loved. She will be greatly missed by her loving children, Eileen Leach, Irene (Tim) Kidd, David (Sabrina) Moore, Joy (Lawrence) Martin; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings Velma Sterling, Virginia Edwards, Joyce Frank, and Calvin Miller. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Roy Miller, Jr.; sister, Coretta Wright. Family and friends will be received Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879) where a service will begin at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Vera’s honor to her family.
