Vera M. Heffran, 86, of Maumee, passed away February 14, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Vera was born May 10, 1931 in Allegheny Harrison, Pennsylvania, to William R. and Vera A. (Heidinger) Ramaley. She married Vern Heffran on March 16, 1951 in Tarentum, PA and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2006. Vera was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Perrysburg. She enjoyed gardening, needle point, crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed football and golf. Her greatest passion were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved spending time with. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl A. (George) Horsman and Cynthia L. Heffran; grandchildren, Zachariah Heffran, Shannon Heffran, Jason (Devon) Horsman and Emily (David) Routh; great-grandchildren, Seth and Cole Heffran, Evelyn and Darby Routh, Gabriel, Ezra and Violet Horsman. Along with her husband Vern, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard “Rick” Heffran and siblings, Margaret Toy, John, James, Charles, and Lawrence Ramaley. Friends will be received Friday, February 16, 2018 from 3-8 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133). Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Second Street, Perrysburg, OH 43551. Burial will be private at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Vera’s name to The First United Methodist Church Youth Group.
