Velda Priddy

Velda R. Priddy, Age 95, of Perrysburg, OH, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021. Prior to moving from Cleveland, Ohio to Perrysburg, Ohio, in 1960, she graduated from Fairview Park High School, and majored in Advertising at Dyke-Spencerian College in Cleveland. She was employed at the Cleveland Press newspaper in retail advertising for 8 years until joining Halle Bros. department stores as Assistant Manager of the then newly opened Westgate store in Fairview Park, Ohio. She later owned and operated the popular Kathleen's Gift Shop retail establishment in Perrysburg for many years. She was a past member of the League of Women's Voters and Past President of Anthony Wayne Garden Club and was an active member and Past President of the Perrysburg Garden Club, a member of Garden Club Forum of the Toledo District and organizer of the Forum's Golden Member permanent scholarship fund, a member and a Past District Director of the Garden Clubs of Ohio, a Past President and member of the Ohio Council of Nationally Accredited Flower Show Judges and a Past Chairman of the Northwest Ohio Judges Council and was a member of Samagama. She was an active Nationally Accredited Master Flower Show Judge and was a certified Instructor of student judges in Flower Show Procedures for the National Garden Clubs, Inc. She also held Master status in the Ohio Landscape Design Consultants Council and was also a member of Perrysburg Chapter #446 Order of Eastern Stars. She was preceded in death her husband, Max and parents, Ruth E. and Ralph H. Wurm. A graveside service will be held at Ft. Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg, OH on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 11:00 AM.
