Vanessa G. Davis, 67 of Toledo, Ohio fell asleep in death on May 9 , 2022, following a long illness. She was born December 7, 1954, to Dr. H.M. Crenshaw and Frances Crenshaw. Vanessa was preceded in death by her father Dr. H.M. Crenshaw and sister Marilyn Crenshaw. Vanessa was a 1972 graduate of Calvin M. Woodward High School and worked for Columbia Gas of Ohio as a Service/Plant supervisor until retirement in 1998.
Vanessa’s greatest joy came from sharing Bible teachings with others. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnesses in July 1975, beginning a long career of selfless service assisting many to come to know and serve Jehovah God and his son, Jesus Christ. Vanessa served several congregations as a full-time minister beginning in 1986 with the Central congregation. From there Vanessa along with her husband, assisted several congregations Port Clinton, Jermain, Stickney, Manhattan, and West Central.
Vanessa was known for her loving concern for people, a giving spirit, and outgoing personality. She was willing to help when she saw a need and was generous with her time, energy, and resources. Her beautiful smile and encouraging comments brought sunshine to even the darkest moments. She will remain in the memories and hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Vanessa is survived by her husband of 37 years, Herbert L. Davis, Jr., mother, Frances Crenshaw; sisters, Shirley and Kay Crenshaw, brother, Marvin Crenshaw, special brother-in-law, Kevin Davis, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
