Valentine Gacik

Valentine “Val” K. Gacik Jr, 84, of Rossford, Ohio passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 2, 1936, to Victoria and Valentine K. Gacik Sr. Val married his Babe, Dolores A. Screptock and spent 64 years together until her passing on September 11, 2020.  Val was an electrician and security guard at LOF for 37 years, worked at the Rossford Fire Department for 47 years, where he played a role in getting the Life Flight at St Vincent’s Hospital, and the marina for 25 years. He enjoyed boating on the river, rebuilding boats, over the years he had four of them, and going to Flea Markets.  Val is survived by his son, Theodore (Dianna) Gacik; grandchildren, Nicholas, Candice (Patrick Scholz), and Christian Gacik; great grandchildren, Jayden, Easton, and Eloise; daughter-in-law, Genice; brother, Gerard (Donna) Gacik; sister-in-law, Sharon Screptock; and nephew, Shawn Screptock. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolores Gacik; son, Kenneth; granddaughter, Heather Gacik; nephew, Scotty Screptock; mother-in-law, Mary Screptock; father-in-law, Frank (Helen) Screptock; and brother-in-law, Wallace Screptock.  Funeral services will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to Sujkowski Walker Funeral Home, Rossford (419-666-1566). Memorial donations in Val’s name may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
