Ursula S. Hillix, 78, of Perrysburg, Ohio died Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on November 10, 1933 to Dayton and Helen Stevens. In high school she was on the National Honors Society and later attended Doan College and graduated with a degree in Education from University of Nebraska. Ursula went on to teach grade school. She was a passionate piano teacher who loved her students. She was a member of the Toledo Piano Teachers Association, Ohio State Piano Teachers Association, National Piano Teachers Association and past president of Ottawa and Wood County Piano Teachers Association. Ursula was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for 35 years and was active in their music program. Ursula and Gus were also members of the Perrysburg Athletic Boosters. Ursula was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Guthrie G. Hillix; daughter, Claudia Hillix-Zbinden; son, Hugh (Kimberly) Hillix; grandchildren, Zachary Zbinden, Sara Hillix, Jacob Hillix and David Hillix; brother, Edwin Stevens. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marilyn Brunkhorst and Mary Ann Launer. Friends will be received Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 1-2 P.M. at Grace United Methodist Church, 601 East Boundary Street, Perrysburg, where funeral services will begin at 2 P.M, with Pastor Dennis Ditto officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Cemetery.
