Troy Lee Moore

Troy Lee Moore lost his battle to cancer and fell asleep in death on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at his home in Rossford, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on February 1, 1960, to Howard E. and Christine M. (Hill) Moore. From his formative years Troy showed himself to be an incredibly determined, focused, and positive-minded individual which made him successful in athletics, life-long friendships, and in public service. Troy participated in numerous sports including basketball, baseball, football, hockey, swimming, and diving. He graduated from Northrop High School in 1978, obtained a bachelors degree in business from Indiana University Bloomington and a law degree from the University of Toledo. After graduating from law school he worked at Schnorf and Schnorf, then went on to establish Ballenger and Moore Co., LPA with his friend and law school classmate Brian Ballenger. Troy enjoyed coaching basketball and attending swim meets and orchestra concerts for his daughters as well as having the opportunity to coach and mentor other girls in basketball; young ladies he refered to as “She’s a Bruin.” Troy also loved his four legged companion Jimmie B. Moore. Troy was raised by his loving parents in the Christian faith, and in time he came to know Jehovah God, deciding to dedicate his life in baptism on April 21, 2013, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses; becoming a part of a worldwide brotherhood where he met his friend and mentor Ted Hyde. Troy is preceded in death by his father Howard; he is survived by his mother Christine; his wife Alysia Garcia-Moore; sister Kelly C Moore-Floyd (Matthew Floyd); daughters Kaitlin, Kelsey, Mackenzie, Seattle and Sydney and extended son Sam Rudolph who had a special place in his heart. He will be truly missed by his friends whom he considered brothers: Brian Ballenger, Donald Barron, Christopher Bosler, Greg Bosler, Greg Crana, Russell Crumback, Kenneth Davis, Keith Edmonds, Ricardo Hinijosa, Thomas Hodrick, T. Mitchell Horn, Daniel Ivy, Steve Jackson, Vincent Kern, Kevin Kern, Dr. D. Kyle Kim, Mark McNabb, Craig Medinis, Jonathan Nelson, Charles Trigg, Timothy Twitchell, Fred Wilson, and Keith Wilson. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Hany J. Jacobs, Dr. Jacob G. Scott, and to his Hospice nurse Laura for the extraordinary care they provided to such an amazing man. Troy remained loyal to those he loved and who he was, unchanging and unwavering in the qualities he possessed, “including but not limited to,” patience, kindness, and mildness. He displayed much strength as well as endurance in how he fought to the very end. He endeavored to be a man pleasing to Jehovah. In his final days he emphasized to his daughters and friends the importance of reading the Bible and prayer. Thank you for all the love that was shown to him. As we wait Jehovah’s promise of the resurrection where we can embrace Troy again…he will be missed…he will be remembered…he will be forever loved. Family and Friends will be received Friday, December 8, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) Visitation will continue at the funeral home, Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 9-Noon; with funeral services beginning at 12 Noon.
