Tristin Rogers Apgar

April 12, 2007 — July 12, 2023

Tristin Rogers Apgar, age 16, of Sylvania, died Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan after complications during heart surgery. He was born April 12, 2007, in Toledo and was set to begin his junior year at Sylvania Northview High School.

Tristin, “T”, Bubba, or Biscuit, was an old soul in a young body; Constantly bringing laughter and love into every situation he was involved in. T was intelligent, wise, funny, and thoughtful; traits that amplified the already beautiful personality he shared with everyone he encountered. He was a member of the art club at Northview, practiced Tae Kwon Do and had recently taken up weightlifting. T loved playing baseball and brought a unique energy to the game and his team; progressing greatly since he first put on a mitt. T also enjoyed golfing, dancing, and sharing his story on his YouTube channel (enjoy his link below) and TikTok. Like most guys his age, he was an avid gamer. T was accepted a year early into the computer science technology program at Northview and was working on coding his own video game while sketching various characters to round out the graphics. He was a gifted storyteller and a not-so-great ice cream cone maker at Timbo’s Cones and Coney’s, a job he enjoyed, nonetheless. He was working on getting his driver’s license while keeping his papa on his toes and his truck in the bushes in the process. T and his sister expressed their entrepreneurial spirit by creating and managing a yard sign business to raise money for their higher educations and international travels. He was gifted with a high “EQ” or emotional intelligence, rare for someone his age, but noticeable to anyone who knew him. He could read a room or situation and would, with empathy and compassion, respond graciously to the needs of others. Tristin’s generous soul endeared him to his cousins and many others. He will also be remembered for his monkey-like laughter and unusual love of Ramen Noodles. His special, illuminating presence will be deeply missed beyond measure.

Left to cherish his memory are his mom, Holly Rogers; dad, Jason Apgar; big sister, Haley Apgar; papa, Doug Rogers; gimmie, Debbie Apgar; step grandma, Joey Apgar; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Tristin was preceded in death by grandma Boo-Boo, Cheryl Singer and Pop-Pop, Jonathon Apgar.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, from 2-7 p.m. and Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. All visitation and services will take place in the First Apostolic Church, 5701 Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH 43623.
